- Inositol-phosphate phosphatase
In
enzymology , an inositol-phosphate phosphatase (EC number|3.1.3.25) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :myo-inositol phosphate + H2O myo-inositol + phosphate
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
myo-inositol phosphate and H2O, whereas its two products aremyo-inositol andphosphate .This enzyme belongs to the family of
hydrolase s, specifically those acting on phosphoric monoester bonds. The systematic name of this enzyme class is myo-inositol-phosphate phosphohydrolase. Other names in common use include myo-inositol-1(or 4)-monophosphatase, inositol 1-phosphatase, L-myo-inositol-1-phosphate phosphatase, myo-inositol 1-phosphatase, inositol phosphatase, inositol monophosphate phosphatase, inositol-1(or 4)-monophosphatase, myo-inositol-1(or 4)-phosphate phosphohydrolase, myo-inositol monophosphatase, and myo-inositol-1-phosphatase. This enzyme participates in 3 metabolic pathways:streptomycin biosynthesis ,inositol phosphate metabolism , andphosphatidylinositol signaling system .tructural studies
As of late 2007, 26 structures have been solved for this class of enzymes, with PDB accession codes PDB link|1AWB, PDB link|1DK4, PDB link|1G0H, PDB link|1G0I, PDB link|1IMA, PDB link|1IMB, PDB link|1IMC, PDB link|1IMD, PDB link|1IME, PDB link|1IMF, PDB link|1LBV, PDB link|1LBW, PDB link|1LBX, PDB link|1LBY, PDB link|1LBZ, PDB link|2BJI, PDB link|2CZH, PDB link|2CZI, PDB link|2CZK, PDB link|2DDK, PDB link|2FVZ, PDB link|2HHM, PDB link|2P3N, PDB link|2P3V, PDB link|2PCR, and PDB link|2QFL.
