The current building was constructed in 1901 to a design byJames and Lister Lea for theHolt Brewery Company . The terracotta on the façade is believed to have come from the Hathern Station Brick and Terracotta Company ofLoughborough . OnDecember 10 ,1991 , the building was designatedGrade II listed building status, along with other nearby pubs such as the White Swan. The pub won theCampaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) award of 'Regional Pub of the Year' in 1996/7, 1998/9, 2003/4 and again 2007/8.References
