Kidder is a city in Caldwell County, Missouri, United States. The population was 271 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Kidder is located at coor dms|39|46|55|N|94|6|9|W|city (39.781907, -94.102602)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 271 people, 109 households, and 79 families residing in the city. The population density was 663.7 people per square mile (255.2/km²). There were 119 housing units at an average density of 291.5/sq mi (112.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.26% White, 0.37% African American, and 0.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.95% of the population.

There were 109 households out of which 33.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.8% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 27.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the city the population was spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 28.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 90.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.2 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $26,771, and the median income for a family was $41,477. Males had a median income of $26,818 versus $18,906 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,424. About 15.6% of families and 22.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 41.8% of those under the age of eighteen and 5.3% of those sixty five or over.
