Argentine Britons or Argentinean Britons ( _es. argentino-británicos) are raised and educated citizens or residents of the United Kingdom whose ancestry originates in the southeast South American nation of Argentina.

Demographics

According to the 2001 UK Census, 6,795 Argentine-born people were living in the UK, [ [http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/18/23/34792376.xls Place of birth data collated by OECD based on 2001 UK Census] ] representing just over 10% of the UK's Latin American born community.

Argentines make up the UK's fourth largest Hispanic population, behind Spaniards, Colombians and Ecuadorians. Argentines are also the UK's eighth largest latino community behind the French, Italians, Brazilians, Portuguese, Spanish, Colombians and Ecuadorians.

Little is known of the ethnic breakdown of Argentines in the UK, but the population of Argentina is primarily of European descent (97%) [ [https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ar.html CIA Website] Data on Argentina] , mostly Italians and Spaniards. There are also significant German, British (many Argentine immigrants of British descent are the only native English-speaking Argentine immigrants), French, and Slavic origins. A minority of the population consists of Argentine Amerindians such as Mapuche. [es icon http://www.indec.mecon.ar/nuevaweb/cuadros/2/ECPI_res_generales_junio2006.pdf]
