Changes from Shadow Ministry

Peter Garrett retained his Environment portfolio but lost his climate change and water responsibilities, which instead went to Senator Penny Wong.

Three previous shadow ministers - Arch Bevis, Kate Lundy and Kerry O'Brien - were relegated to the back bench, while Jan McLucas, Laurie Ferguson and Bob McMullan were demoted from ministerial roles to parliamentary secretary positions.
