Michelle Buckman

Michelle Buckman is a freelance writer, columnist, and author of Christian fiction.

Born in Albany, NY, she spent her early childhood in Ontario, Canada, then moved to Greensboro, NC. She attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill then married Tommy Buckman and transferred to Pitt Community College in Greenville, NC, to earn a degree in computer programming. After graduating, she and her husband lived in Washington, NC and then Gastonia, NC, before moving to South Carolina. They have five children. Her novels are contemporary stories plotted around issues facing women and teens today, including infertility, abstinence, rape, molestation, and teen pregnancy. Her books are Christian in that they offer a Christian world-view of morals and depict characters applying their faith as they work through the story's conflict, but her writing is defined as being "grit-lit" in that it faces issues straight on, often with scenes meant to stimulate emotional responses in readers.
