pecial Guests

For a show of its size, King Ben's Injection of Perfection boasts an impressive "wall of fame" that has built up over the last two years. Previous guests on the 2SSR shows include Daniel Craig, Sylvester Stallone, Fifi Box, Gretel Killeen, Davina McCall, Trish Stratus, Bindi Irwin, Matt Corby, Neil Morrisey and The Umbilical Brothers.

On 2RRR, guests have included Andy Whitfield and Shane Abbess from Gabriel, and Eric Grothe Junior & his band Shinobi. Starting in December, King Ben's Injection of Perfection will be the only radio show in Australia to interview the castaways from Survivor China.

Mark Wilson from Dancing with the Stars is the only person to appear on both station's incarnations of the program.

He was also joined at times with 2SSRFM Sports presenter and friend Adam Santarossa who would often be asked his opinion on various sporting matters and would often be involved in "Tipping Impossible". Adam's show "Shire Sports Saturday" would fill the 10am-12pm timeslot with King Ben filling the preceding 2 hours, so collaboration between the two was common.

Regular Segments

mart Arts Movie Review

"2SSR and 2RRR"
Moviehole.net's Clint Morris joined "King" Ben on August 26 2006 to deliver his blunt thoughts on the latest releases in Movie Theaters and on DVD. Morris, and occasionally Ben, uses the unique "out of 5 boxes of overpriced cinema popcorn" system to rate each film reviewed. Morris made the move with "King" Ben to 2RRR.

Wacky News

"2SSR"
A segment that lasted the entire 2 year run on 2SSR, "King" Ben would read out a story (or a few throughout the show) from somewhere in the world that was unusual in some way.

Big Brother Update

"2SSR"
"King" Ben would be joined by Big Brother alumni Tim Brunero during the span of the Australian Big Brother season to discuss the show. In 2006 this was accompanied by an interview with the latest evictee from the show as well as hosts Gretel Killeen and Mike Goldman, while in 2007 "King" Ben was joined one week by Big Brother UK host Davina McCall [ [http://www.behindbigbrother.com/posts/updates/1510 BBUK host talks to Australia | Behindbigbrother.com - We're Watching ] ] to compare the two countries shows, and in late 2007 the runner-up and winner of Big Brother 2007 were interviewed on the show.

Rockstar Roundup

"2SSR"
Following a similar format to the previous Big Brother segment, "King" Ben would be joined by Rockstar INXS runner-up Suzie McNeil to discuss . [http://www.suzie-mcneil.net/bio.html (5th paragraph)] [http://excoboard.com/exco/thread.php?forumid=81886&threadid=548637 (Google Cache Page at October 4 2007)] This was accompanied one week by the world-premiere of McNeil's first single off her new album, or a clip of a performance from the show after the segment.

Tipping Impossible

"2SSR"
Members of the Cronulla Sharks team joined King Ben during the 2005 and 2006 NRL seasons to discuss that week's game and to submit their tips for the other games of the round. In 2006 this segment was expanded to a competition between "Team Cronulla Sharks" and "Team King Ben", the latter being represented by either celebrities (Tim Campbell, Fifi Box, Andrew Voss etc.) or members of the 2SSR sports team. "Team King Ben" won the 2006 Tipping Impossible competition.

Are You Smarter than a 12th Grader?

"2SSR"
A short-lived segment used to parody the game show with a similar name debuting around that time. Listeners who were older than a school student competed against a listener who attended year 12 at school at the time, in a quiz consisting of year 12-orientated questions from school and pop culture. The winner won an invite to a preview screening of an upcoming film, however there was only one winner throughout the segment, the twelfth grader named Renée.

Timewarp

"2SSR"
Another short-lived segment where the number 1 single on the ARIA charts on 2007 and another year (for example, 1997 or 1987) were played back-to-back. In the leadup to the segment, "King" Ben would deliver clues to the identity of the "timewarped number one song".

A Whole New World

"2SSR"
Named after the theme song, Peter André and Jordan's cover of A Whole New World, the segment featured an original song, and two covers in completely different genres.

Themed Shows

James Bond-A-Thon

In association with 20th Century Fox, the show had a James Bond theme one week in October 2006, with James Bond DVD Giveaways as well as interviews with John Lowry [ [http://www.moviehole.net/news/20061016_caffeinated_clint_161006.html Moviehole.net - Caffeinated Clint - 16/10/06 ] ] (who restored the James Bond DVD's) and Lois Maxwell (who played Moneypenny in the Connery, Lazenby and Moore Bond films). Lois passed away a year later, meaning that her interview with "King" Ben was one of, if not the last interview she participated in.

Pirate Treasure Hunt

In association with Disney, and to celebrate the release of the third Pirates of the Caribbean film, the show held a treasure hunt all week in May 2007. Listeners had to figure out clues in order to determine what presenter on 2SSR would be giving away Pirate prizes. [Sutherland Shire Leader (24th May 2007) Article; Screenc

Move to 2RRR

After exactly 2 years on 2SSRFM, "King" Ben made the move to 2RRR on November 16 2007. Along with the move came Clint Morris, and a change from Saturday Afternoons to the Friday Drivetime timeslot. "King" Ben's first guest on 2RRR was Mark Wilson from Australia's Dancing with the Stars judging panel, while Part 1 of an interview with Gabriel director Shane Abbess and title-star Andy Whitfield was played. Sydney Weekender's Sally Obermeder joined the show as a regular contributor, discussing the many places of interest in Sydney.

2 Years in 2 Hours; Goodbye to 2SSR

Unusually, "King" Ben's final show on 2SSR came one day after his first at 2RRR, in order to officially celebrate his 2 year anniversary with the station. The show, titled "2 Years in 2 Hours" featured retro segments and interviews from past shows, as well as thoughts from "King" Ben and fellow 2SSR presenter Steve Murray. The show ended with a goodbye message from "King Ben" and station I.D.s from Ben's two favourite guests - Fifi Box and Gretel Killeen. The final words on the 2SSR incarnation were "Hey this is Gretel Killeen, and when Big Brother's not watching, he's listening to King Ben."
