Minnesota ,United States . The population was 735 at the 2000 census. The current mayor is Michael Aksamit (elected 2006). Two notable past-residents include authorLaVyrle Spencer , sculptorJoseph Kiselewski , and Galynn Brady (nee Johnson). Brady, a graduate of Browerville High School, is the mother of New England Patriots quarterbackTom Brady . Browerville was named afterJacob V. Brower (1844-1905), who was a prolific writer of the Upper Midwest region of the United States who championed the location and protection of the utmost headwaters of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Brower was born in Michigan and moved to Minnesota. In 1862 he served withHenry Hastings Sibley during wars against the Sioux in Minnesota. After the war he was County Auditor and County Attorney for Todd County, Minnesota.Geography

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 735 people, 318 households, and 181 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 1,052.5 people per square mile (405.4/km²). There were 337 housing units at an average density of 482.6/sq mi (185.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.23% White, 0.54% Native American, 0.54% Asian, 0.14% from other races, and 0.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.95% of the population.There were 318 households out of which 27.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.5% were married couples living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 42.8% were non-families. 41.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 27.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.24 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the city the population was spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 22.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 78.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 72.6 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $26,250, and the median income for a family was $48,393. Males had a median income of $35,208 versus $24,375 for females. The
