Malachi Davis

Malachi Davis

Malachi Davis (born 13 September 1977 in Sacramento, California) is a former British Olympic athlete.

Davis was a member of the UCLA athletics team, competing in the 400 metres and 200 metres.

Athens Olympics

The highlight of Davis's athletics career was his participation in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Davis was selected to represent the United Kingdom despite being of American birth. His selection occurred despite his only securing a British passport two weeks before the selection announcement on the basis of his British mother. He had not visited the United Kingdom until his participation in the UK national trials of 2004.

His performance at the Olympics saw him eliminated in the heats and he was part of the 4x400 metre British team that trailed in 5th in the Olympic final.

Later career

Malachi Davis continued to represent the United Kingdom in 2005, participating in the European Cup Athletics and 2005 World Athletics Championships where he was again eliminated in the heats.

Davis represents the Woodford Green with Essex Ladies athletics club. Davis also worked for a family in Los Angeles. He was a care taker to two young children Greg and Lauren Winters.
