Carol Mann

Carol Mann

Carol Mann (born February 3, 1941) is an American professional golfer.

Mann was born in Buffalo, New York. After attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Mann joined the LPGA Tour in 1961. She won thirty-eight tournaments on the tour, including two major championships, the 1964 Western Open and the 1965 U.S. Women's Open. She topped the money list in 1969 and finished in the top ten nine times between 1965 and 1975. Once won the Vare Trophy for best scoring average. She was 6 feet 3 inches tall during her playing days.

Mann resides in The Woodlands, Texas. She was a close friend of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

When asked about LPGA's controversial english-only rule in August of 2008, Mann stated: "I have friends who will turn the TV off or find other things to watch if Koreans are in the lead (in an LPGA tournament). A couple of weeks ago, there were seven or eight of them."
