Shortlands , in theLondon Borough of Bromley in southLondon . It serves the southwest part ofBromley , and is 10 miles (16km) from London Victoria.The station is located on the A222 road. It was originally opened by the "West End of London and Crystal Palace Railway" on
3 May 1858 , when it was named "Bromley". Shortlands Junction, just west of the station, is where theCatford Loop Line joins the main Chatham line: the two lines are now running on four tracks (pairs of Slow and Fast lines) through the station, which consists of two island platforms on an embankment. The station was enlarged in 1892-94. Shortlands Junction was remodelled in the 1950s to allow line speeds to be increased, and was remodelled again with a dive-under line in 2002 to increase the capacity of the junction.The station is in
Travelcard Zone 4 , and the station and all trains are operated by Southeastern.Services
