- Justin Capra
Iustin Capră (born
22 February 1933 ) is a Romanian technician. He was born in Măgureni, Prahova, Romania. He invented and built small vehicles that consumed very little fuel. Before that he invented an individual jet device, which allows a person to fly by jet. His invention has never been patented or applied. His creative ingenuity did not attract the attention of the Romanian government of the time and he built his tiny and funny vehicles, mostly on his own. Iustin Capra's most famous car was the "Soleta 150 Ecor"; it had a total weight of 95 kg and was capable of covering 100 km with 0.5 liters of fuel. He also produced another model, the Soleta I.C.200, which could reach 67 km/h.
Iustin Capră has never produced his cars industrially. An economical car, the
Lăstun , was eventually produced by theDacia company in Romania. There is no proof that any of the solutions used by Iustin Capră in his mini-cars has been applied or even considered by the manufacturer.Iustin Capră remains a brilliant inventor who unfortunately has never been supported in his efforts by the government or by a private company to make his inventions accessible to public consumers.
