Richard Pearce is a British actor and voice artist.
Characters and performances
Richard Pearce is best known for his animation work, he is the voice of Dennis the Menace (BBC), Budgie the Helicopter (ITV) and Oswald (Channel 5). In addition he has appeared in "The Faraway Tree" (BBC), The Magic Key (BBC), Numbertime (BBC), Aggripine (Channel 5), Macdonald's Farm (ITV), as well as appearances in "The Animated Shakespeare" (S4C).
Richard has appeared in over 500 radio dramas and was twice a member of the BBC radio drama company. He played opposite Sir John Gielgud in "Tales My Father Taught Me" and in an extraordinary variety of radio parts ranging from The Mekon in Dan Dare to the last castrato in "Angel of Rome." He also notably appeared in a Radio 4 adaptation of "Herge's Adventures of Tintin", playing the title role.
Currently available audio CD's include Kenneth Branagh's Romeo and Juliet (Renaissance), The Taming of the Shrew (BBC), Hamlet (Naxos), The Skull Beneath The Skin by PD James (BBC), Oliver Twist (BBC), A Woman of No Importance (Penguin) and two of BBC audio's highest selling audio series, as the lead in Tintin (BBC) and as Doctor Who's assistant, Jeremy Fitzoliver, in two specially commissioned episodes (The Paradise Of Death and The Ghosts of N-Space) for BBC radio.
