- Aralkylamine dehydrogenase
In
enzymology , an aralkylamine dehydrogenase (EC number|1.4.99.4) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :RCH2NH2 + H2O + acceptor RCHO + NH3 + reduced acceptor
The 3 substrates of this enzyme are
RCH2NH2 , H2O, andacceptor , whereas its 3 products areRCHO , NH3, andreduced acceptor .This enzyme belongs to the family of
oxidoreductase s, specifically those acting on the CH-NH2 group of donors with other acceptors. The systematic name of this enzyme class is aralkylamine:acceptor oxidoreductase (deaminating). Other names in common use include aromatic amine dehydrogenase, dehydrogenase, arylamine, tyramine dehydrogenase, aromatic amine dehydrogenase, and aralkylamine:(acceptor) oxidoreductase (deaminating). This enzyme participates intyrosine metabolism andphenylalanine metabolism .tructural studies
