SirsiDynix is a
United States company that develops and sellscomputer software for libraries. It is the world's largest supplier of library software. The present company was formed by the merger of two library software companies, Sirsi Corporation and Dynix Corporation, in June 2005. integrated library system (ILS). The equivalent products from Dynix Corporation are Horizon and the earlier-generation Dynix system. Dynix was first developed onmainframe computer s and is still widely used in libraries throughout the world. Dynix Corporation obtained thetrademark for the term "Dynix" fromIBM in 2001. Prior to the appearance of web-based catalog interfaces, Dynix-basedlibrary catalog s could be remotely accessed usingDialcat .The latest ILS product is SirsiDynix Symphony, released in December 2007. SirsiDynix is also introducing a new facted search product called Enterprise. SirsiDynix also has released a product called Director's Station.
