Chemmanathukara is a small place in Vaikom Village, Kottayam District, Kerala, India. There are two communities here, Hindus and Christians. They live in good harmony. There are two main temples i.e. Chemmanathu 'Krishna Temple'and 'Muruga Temple' and one main Church St.Antony's church.. It is part of T.V Puram Panchayat(Thirumani Venkitapuram Panchayat). Padmanabha Pillai was the first male graduate and M. Nalinikutty Amma was the first female graduate from the area. Padmanbha Pillai became a Judge and Nalini Kutty became Head mistress in NSS School.It is place which is on the lap of "Kariyar" which is a subsidiary of Vembanadu Lake.The "Kadathu" or transportation via small boats were one of the means of transportation earlier to travel to kottayam city.St.George Hospital (Parekattu)is running by Sisters of Destitutes.
