- Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (NADP+) (phosphorylating)
In
enzymology , a glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (NADP+) (phosphorylating) (EC number|1.2.1.13) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate + phosphate + NADP+ 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate + NADPH + H+
The 3 substrates of this enzyme are
D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate ,phosphate , and NADP+, whereas its 3 products are3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate , NADPH, and H+.This enzyme belongs to the family of
oxidoreductase s, specifically those acting on the aldehyde or oxo group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate:NADP+ oxidoreductase (phosphorylating). Other names in common use include triosephosphate dehydrogenase (NADP+), dehydrogenase, glyceraldehyde phosphate (nicotinamide adenine, dinucleotide phosphate) (phosphorylating), glyceraldehyde phosphate dehydrogenase (nicotinamide adenine, dinucleotide phosphate) (phosphorylating), NADP+-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, NADP+-glyceraldehyde phosphate dehydrogenase, NADP+-dependent glyceraldehyde phosphate dehydrogenase, NADP+-triose phosphate dehydrogenase, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (NADP+) (phosphorylating), and GAPDH. This enzyme participates incarbon fixation .tructural studies
As of late 2007, 10 structures have been solved for this class of enzymes, with PDB accession codes PDB link|1JN0, PDB link|1NBO, PDB link|1RM3, PDB link|1RM4, PDB link|1RM5, PDB link|2D2I, PDB link|2DUU, PDB link|2HKI, PDB link|2PKQ, and PDB link|2PKR.
