"All Star Wonder Woman", expected to launch sometime in 2008, is a planned ongoing American comic book series featuring Wonder Woman. It will be the newest series under the All Star imprint, preceded by "All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder" and "All Star Superman". Every series under this imprint are helmed by renowned writers and artists in the American comic book industry and attempt to retell some of the history of prominent DC Universe characters, but outside of DC Universe continuity, and not be restricted by it, in order to appeal to new and returning readers. Every series under the All Star imprint are set in their own continuity and separate universes. The series will be written by Adam Hughes, who will also do the artwork. In an interview with "Newsarama" [ [http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=81341 Adam Hughes On His New Exclusive & All Star Wonder Woman - Newsarama ] ] , Hughes stated he will be approaching the story as an iconic interpretation of the character, with the approach, as said by Hughes, similar to how " "was created: treating the 60+ year history like a salad bar and taking the good bits and leaving the rest, with the Golden Age and George Pérez run as examples.

Wonder Woman will be portrayed, not as a general superhero despite the superheroics she will do, but as a mythological character as Pérez introduced her in his run that rebooted the title back in 1987. Wonder Woman, or Princess Diana, will be "a daughter of a queen who comes from a perfect place, but for some reason wants to go to the place that everyone is telling her she doesn't want to go, to meet people, talk to strangers, and learn their ways." Hughes calls this the "Dorothy complex."

Steve Trevor will be the love interest, like he was pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths, but will also be Wonder Woman's guide through "Man's World." Hughes states that all the supporting characters (Steve Trevor, Etta Candy, Queen Hippolyta) will be written as interesting enough that they could carry their own titles, and not throwaways. Important because they themselves are important parts of Wonder Woman’s story.

As Adam Hughes has pointed out, "All Star Wonder Woman" is a story about "a princess from a foreign country coming to America, and her handler/tour guide is the Marlboro Man." The story will begin with Steve Trevor crashing on Themyscira, also known as Paradise Island.
