Its 2001 population was 286 for the village. After World War II and the Greek Civil War, many of its buildings were rebuilt.

Narkissos has a school, six churches, a post office, and a square (plateia), its nearest lyceum (middle school) and gymnasium (secondary school) are in the municipal seat.
