Preveza ( _el. Πρεβεζα) is one of the prefectures of Greece. It is within the Epirus periphery. Its capital is the city Preveza. It was one of the prefectures that had any provinces. the only province is known as Nikopoli and Parga, Preveza is a non-provincial city. The city and the district has been planning a bridge or a tunnel which will connect traffic between Preveza and Thesprotia and Lefkada and western Aetolia in Aetolia-Acarnania because the ferry route is short. Preveza lies near the western part of the Ambracian Gulf.

The prefecutre was created in the 1913 when the rest of Epirus joined with Greece during the First Balkan War, it included the island of Lefkada as well, Lefkada split in 1955 and created its own prefecture and joined the Ionian Islands region.
