kindergarten days, but were not friends with each other at the time. In 2004, the band began life when Sophie and Lucio attended creative-artscamp to take a course inmusic , while band-mate Isadora "Izzy" had attended Rock School for Girls. Sophie and long-time friend Lyle decided that they wanted to form a band, and decided to take up the idea with Izzy (who she had met formally in third grade), and former band member Lucio (who she got to know through the band). The band, as previously mentioned, began as Nada Clue (suggested by Lyle). But after Lyle left the band in 2005 over "musical differences", it was decided by the trio that their name should be changed. They eventually settled on Care Bears on Fire because they liked the idea of mixing something sweet with something edgy.
The band got their biggest break yet when "
New York Magazine " did a profile on the three in the summer of2006 [cite news

In
February 2007 , the aspiring trio had theirManhattan debut atPiano's , an event which wasn't advertised as all ages. Although most of the crowd had been much older than any of the band members, it was reported by Izzy's mother, Elissa that "...they [The crowd] sang along with the songs—especially 'Don't Want To Be Like Everybody Else.' That sort of blew the kids' minds." Shortly after theirBig Apple debut, the band began working on new material. The band formally released their debut LP, "I Stole Your Animal" on
October 2nd ,2007 , and four days prior (September 28th, 2007) at a release party in Manhattan. The album received generally positive reviews from critics, publications such asDetour stating that "The songs are catchy, with an earnest rhythm section backing up the same big guitar chords the grownup garage-punk bands use..."
