Choir

The JVHS Choir department consists of five choirs:
* Women's Ensemble (non-audition)
* Mixed Choir (non-audition)
* Concert Choir
* Treble Choir
* Chamber SingersAll of which are under the direction of Mrs. Melva Morrison who is also the associate director and accompanist of the Inland Master Chorale, as well as the choir director of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ontario.

The department holds a total of 4 concerts a year, including a fall concert, a Christmas conert, a spring concert, and a final concert. In addition to the concerts, all of the choirs perform at various festivals, and the three auditioned choirs (concert, treble, and chamber singers) perform at out-of-school performances, including Disneyland, in addition to the festivals. The choirs have consistently been at the top of adjudicated festival performances.

Chamber Singers

The Chamber Singers is the top traditional choir at JVHS. The choir frequently performs around the community, especially around the Christmas season, both as an entire choir and sometimes as a smaller ensemble. They also take part at many adjudicated festivals throughout Southern California and have taken 1st place numerous times at the Ontario Auto Center competition against other high school choirs of the same level from the surrounding area. Every year the group gets to go on a week long tour to various destinations across the United States. Past destinations have included Hawaii, San Francisco, Seattle, & Sacramento. Along the way to their destination they get to perform at many venues. The Chamber Singers of the 2006 - 2007 school year participated on a Royal Caribbean music festival cruise, which included stops at Catalina Island, San Diego, and Ensenada, Mexico, making them the first Chamber Singers of JVHS to travel out of the country.
