Green Line (Yokohama)

The nihongo|Yokohama Municipal Subway Green Line|横浜市営地下鉄グリーンライン|Yokohama Shiei Chikatetsu Gurīn Rain is a line of the Yokohama Municipal Subway in the city of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Its formal designation is Line 4, and it is the first part of a proposed nihongo|Yokohama Loop Railway|横浜環状鉄道|Yokohama Kanjō Tetsudō. The line links Nakayama Station on the JR East Yokohama Line and Hiyoshi Station on the Tōkyū Tōyoko Line with 13 km of track.

After construction which began in 2001, it started operating in March 30, 2008.

The new subway has 10 stations and it takes approximately 21 minutes from Nakayama to Hiyoshi. The stations are designed in a distinctive way. For example, Kawawachō station is designed with a slight dome-shaped arc clarifyme which represents the waves of the Tsurumi River which flows south of Nakayama Station.

From June 2008, there will be a new connection on the Tōkyū Meguro Line from Hiyoshi Station via Musashi-Kosugi station and then straight into central Tokyo through the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line and Toei Mita Line.
