Dick Albert

Dick Albert was the co-chief meteorologist on WCVB-TV, channel 5, in Boston, Massachusetts along with Harvey Leonard. He was with the station from 1978–2009, delivering the evening and nighttime forecasts. He presented the 5:00 and 6:00 weather reports on NewsCenter 5, while Leonard worked on the 5:30 and 11:00 newscasts.

On February 4, 2009, Albert announced his retirement. His final forecast was on February 26.[1]

In late 2010, he contributed to the book, "Extreme New England Weather" written by Josh Judge, with his thoughts on "The Perfect Storm" in 1991. Book website

Career before WCVB

A native of Newton, Massachusetts, Albert studied at University of Michigan and worked in Denver and at KRON-TV in San Francisco. He also served as an Air Force weatherman.

Personal

Albert, age 64, lives in Boston with his wife, Mary Ann, and his two sons, Matt and Marc.[2]
