Newk's Time is an album by Sonny Rollins. It was his third album for Blue Note Records, released in 1957. Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in Hackensack, NJ on September 22, 1957. The title of the album is a reference to Rollins' nickname "Newk", which is apparently based on his resemblance to Donald Newcombe, a Major League Baseball pitcher who shared the same nickname.^[2] "Namely You" was taken from the Broadway show Li'l Abner.
