The history of Brandon is little known. Major events included moving the town closer to the rail road tracks from its former location between lakes Little Chippewa and Devils. Ole Brandon, an immigrant of Norwegian descent, is known to have been one of the original settlers. The town was formally organized in 1881.
Many families are known to have had great influence on the town. The Julseth family, as well as the Nelson family owned large farm operations and were vital in the settling and development of early Brandon.
Geography
According to the
United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 0.4square mile s (1.1km² ), of which, 0.4 square miles (1.0 km²) of it is land and 2.44% is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 450 people, 187 households, and 123 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 1,120.2 people per square mile (434.4/km²). There were 199 housing units at an average density of 495.4/sq mi (192.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.56% White, 0.22% Asian, and 0.22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.89% of the population.There were 187 households out of which 32.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families. 31.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.99.
In the city the population was spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 97.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.0 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $28,750, and the median income for a family was $38,500. Males had a median income of $26,000 versus $23,750 for females. The
