Dia Josette Isidore DiCristino (born July 26, 1980) is an Italian American Jazz and Opera singer who has recorded various Albums including After the Storm. She is also a professional photographer with a London based studio.[1]

Biography
Early Life
DiCristino was born in Media, Pennsylvania to parents of Italian descent. Her grandparents came from Montelapiano, Abruzzo in Italy. At age 3 her family moved to South Philadelphia where she was raised in the Italian culture. She attended high school at the Girard Academic Music Program on 22nd Ritner Streets in Philadelphia. DiCristino was involved in a multitude of choirs and vocal ensembles.[2]
Career
DiCristino first became known vocally by cantoring around the Philadelphia area. In 1998,1999,2000 and 2001, she sung live on local radio stations every Christmas season. She was head cantor at her college, Immaculata University, from 1998 to 2001. In 2004 DiCristino released her first album entitled, Five Songs. In 2007 she recorded her debut Jazz album, After the Storm, and it hit number 10 on the All About Jazz chart in December 2007.[3]In January 2011 Dia DiCristino released the album "Brain Drain" which is a 3 part instrumental abstract music piece which reflects upon her own many brain surgeries. On October 1st, 2011, Dia DiCristino released the album, Life Between Death, which was consisting of 10 new original songs written and performed by herself and recorded in a cemetery shed. The songs are autobiographical and touch on mainly her time dealing with a chronic neurological disorder. [4]On October 20th, 2011 Dia DiCristino was honorably mentioned at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. for her hard work in patient advocacy over the years with people who have arachnoid cysts at the Dorland Health Awards.[5]
Since 2006 DiCristino has been a professional photographer.
Personal Life
DiCristino currently resides in both the UK and the US with her dogs Figaro and Pinocchio, frequently traveling between New York City and London. Her health problems became international news in 2003 because of an arachnoid cyst on the brain that caused many operations.[6][7]
