United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 2.0square mile s (5.1km² ), of which, 1.5 square miles (3.9 km²) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²) of it (24.37%) is water.Minnesota State Highway 210 serves as a main route in the community.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 498 people, 231 households, and 130 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 333.2 people per square mile (129.0/km²). There were 263 housing units at an average density of 176.0/sq mi (68.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.40% White, 0.40% Native American, and 0.20% from two or more races.There were 231 households out of which 26.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.4% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 43.7% were non-families. 39.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 26.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.16 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the city the population was spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 22.9% from 25 to 44, 17.7% from 45 to 64, and 25.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 81.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 75.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $22,813, and the median income for a family was $30,729. Males had a median income of $27,222 versus $17,143 for females. The
