As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 292 people, 126 households, and 73 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 291.6 per square mile (112.7/km²). There were 138 housing units at an average density of 137.8/sq mi (53.3/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 94.18% White, 3.77% African American, and 2.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.34% of the population.There were 126 households out of which 25.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.7% were married couples living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.3% were non-families. 36.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 24.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.24 and the average family size was 2.92.
In the village the population was spread out with 23.6% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 16.1% from 45 to 64, and 25.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 97.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.8 males.
