Paula Begoun

Paula Begoun is the author and publisher of several books on the beauty industry. Paula Begoun has sold more than 2.5 million copies of her books and is also a syndicated columnist, with her “Dear Paula” column appearing in papers throughout North America.

For years Paula earned a living as a makeup artist. During this time, Paula began to recognize some fundamental problems with the cosmetics industry. Paula’s view on the cosmetics industry resulted in regular appearances on KIRO-TV, a local TV station in Seattle. Paula left KIRO in 1986 after finishing her first book, which was an exposé of the cosmetics industry.

Begoun founded her own skin care and cosmetics company, Paula's Choice, in the 1990s. Begoun has continued to recommend and critique products throughout the industry while also marketing her own line through online sales.
