Boone Township is named after
Squire Boone who settled in the township in1806 . He died there in1813 and is buried in the nearbySquire Boone Caverns . Boone built the first baptist church in Indiana in the Boone Township in1807 . The church is callOld Goshen Church and still stands.Geography
Boone Township covers an area of 47.74 square miles (123.64 square kilometers); of this, 0.39 square miles (1.01 square kilometers) or 0.82 percent is water. The streams of Big Run, Mays Branch and West Branch Mosquito Creek run through this township.
