Surrogate is a two-man band from Chico, California featuring multi-instrumentalist Chris Keene and drummer Jordan Mallory, former members of Number One Gun. They signed to Tooth & Nail Records in 2007 and released their début album, "Love Is for the Rich", on August 28, 2007.

Formation

Once Number One Gun disbanded in late 2005, Chris Keene, dissatisfied with what he calls the "wall of sound, constantly overdriven" [cite web |url=http://www.christianitytoday.com/music/artists/surrogate.html |title=Surrogate - Biography|accessdate=2008-01-13 |work=Christian Music Today| author=Tooth & Nail] style, decided to take on a whole new musical genre. He played some songs for Mallory, who liked them and decided to record some demos with Keene; thus forming Surrogate. The demos were then played for Jonathan Dunn, Tooth & Nail artists and repertoire man, who signed them to Tooth & Nail Records in 2007
