Indiana , USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 18,358. In 2007, the township had 29,361 residents. Due to Clay Township (neighboring to the south) becoming more conservative with development due to a reduction in available land over the past few years, Washington Township has seen an increase in residential communities being developed.Geography
Washington Township covers an area of 55.94 square miles (144.89 square kilometers); of this, 0.09 square miles (0.23 square kilometers) or 0.16 percent is water. The streams of Bear Creek, Grassy Branch and Woodruff Branch run through this township.
