Maurice Richard, B.B.A., LL.B. (born December 7, 1972) is a lawyer and former President of the New Brunswick Liberal Association (2000-2002).
Richard was educated at the Mgr. Marcel-François-Richard High School in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, New Brunswick. He attended Université de Moncton and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1994 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1997.
Richard was a candidate for the Liberal party in the 1999 provincial election but was narrowly defeated by a margin of 121 votes in the massive Progressive Conservative sweep. He unsuccessfully ran in the 2003 provincial election but again narrowly lost to his opponent, Rose-May Poirier. Richard's second election bid was jolted when his father and business partner was seriously injured in a car accident mid-way through the campaign.
As President of the New Brunswick Liberal Association, Richard actively promoted several renewal initiatives which helped rebuild the Party.
Maurice Richard is currently practising law with the New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission, in Moncton, New Brunswick.
