Haida manga

Haida Manga is a new concept in contemporary graphic literature.A hybrid form reliant on blending ancient indigenous design with contemporary narrative and presenting the results in still or sequential structure.

Haida Manga is recently popularized by artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas. Haida manga made its debut in 2001 in the book, "A Tale of Two Shaman" which led to a series of exhibits and multiple print runs in Japan and Korea. Asian interest in the graphic appeal of Haida design is enhanced by the narratives which advocate a hopeful and empowering message.
