Roronoa Zoro, and the other crew members can be used as summons and a total of 15 characters appear in the story mode. There are 12 different bosses such as Buggy and Smoker. There are items that appear in the manga and anime used as collectable treasure, which the player can revisit already cleared stages to find. The stages also have interactive environment objects.[1]
Story
"Follow the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates and explore the Grand Line in search of the famed treasure, the "One Piece!" Use your stretchy Gum-Gum abilities to defeat marines and other pirates of the sea that you encounter on your journey!"[1]
Reception
One Piece has received slightly higher than average reviews.[2] Nintendo Power gave the game an 8 out of 10, and Gamespot gave the game a 7.4, but Gamespot's user gave the game an 8.[2] Game Spy praised the game for its visuals and sound effects, but also stated it didn't bring anything new to the platformer genre. GameSpy gave the game the GBA Game of the Year award.[3] Gamespy felt the controls were good, with the exception of the "Gum-Gum Grab" which was difficult to master.[3]
