Drama Desk Award for her work in "Rooms", and played "Nettie Cleary" in the original Broadway production of theTony Award -winning drama, "The Subject Was Roses " (1964). In 1971 she won theSarah Siddons Award for her work inChicago theatre . In 1969, she joined the cast of the long-running ABC serial "The Edge of Night " as Pamela Stewart. In 1974, she later joined the cast of "Another World " where she was the 4th actress to play the role of family matriarch Liz Matthews until 1986, again from 1987 to 1993, finally leaving the series in 1994. Her work on "Another World" was recognized with aDaytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in 1979. Her film credits include "No Way to Treat a Lady " (1968), "Five Easy Pieces " (1970), "The Grissom Gang " (1971), and "The Amityville Horror " (1979).Dailey taught acting classes at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York and later opened her own school, the School of the Actors Company.
