Henninger Field is a little-known, historic
ballpark located in historicChambersburg, Pennsylvania .Erected in 1900, Henninger Field, (originally known as Wolf Park), is the home of the sandlot Chambersburg Maroons, Chambersburg High School and Chambersburg American Legion
baseball teams. Wolf Park was renamed in 1920 in honor of Clay Henninger, a very influential person in baseball in Chambersburg.Other Users
Henninger Field was previously the home of a minor league baseball team, the Chambersburg Cardinals (a semi-pro football team), Chambersburg Trojans football, and Chambersburg Trojans soccer (1968-2003, 2005).
Babe Ruth and Henninger Field
Babe Ruth and the 1929New York Yankees played an exhibition game at Henninger Field against theChambersburg Maroons in the summer of 1929. Ruth hit a home run to left-centerfield during the game.
