John Duthie (1841 - 1915) was the Mayor of Wellington, New Zealand in 1889.
He represented the City of Wellington electorate from 1890 to 1899 when he retired, and from 1902 to 1905 when he was defeated (for the Wellington North electorate). He was later appointed to the Legislative Council.
He was Chairman of the Wanganui Harbour Board, and of the Wellington Harbour Board from 1887 to 1888.
He was born in Aberdeen, and arrived in New Zealand in 1863. In 1879 he established the hardware firm of "Duthie and Co" in Wellington. He was the director of several city companies, and was in business with James Gear in the 1880s. Duthie Street in Karori is named for him, although he never lived in Karori.
