"It Must Be Love" is the title of a song written by Craig Bickhardt and former Poco member Jack Sundrud. It was recorded and released in 1998 by American country music singer Ty Herndon on his album "Big Hopes", from which it was released as that album's second single in mid-1998. The song reached a peak of Number One on the "Billboard" Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts, becoming the third and final Number One of his career. It was also his highest entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #37 there.

Content

The song is a moderate up-tempo whose narrator tells of how he finds himself acting uncharacteristically, unable to control his emotions, because he is in love. In the chorus, a question-and-answer format is used, with Doug Virden and Drew Womack (then members of the band Sons of the Desert) singing the questions and Herndon performing the answers — until the last line, where they all sing together:
