Rettendon is a small village in Essex, England about 10 miles to the South East of the county town Chelmsford and to the North East of London. It is situated near the River Crouch and borders Battlesbridge and Rettendon Common. The village was once owned by the Bishop of Ely, Cambridge, UK, and is known for its many antiques businesses.

Rettendon was the scene of the triple murder of Patrick Tate, Tony Tucker, and Craig Rolfe, three drug dealers shot to death in a Range Rover on 5th December 1995. The films "Essex Boys", starring Sean Bean, and "Rise of the Footsoldier" were both based on the crime.
