- Peter Reading
Peter Reading (born
Liverpool ,1946 ) is a prolific English poet. He is known for his choice of ugly subject matter, and use of classical metres [Keith Tuma, "Anthology of Twentieth-Century British and Irish Poetry" (2001), p. 725.] . The "Oxford Companion to Twentieth-Century Poetry" describes his verse as "strongly anti-romantic, disenchanted and usually satirical" [Entry byMartin Seymour-Smith ] .Early life
He was educated at Alsop High School and
Liverpool College of Art .As a poet
His first collection was published in 1974.
