- John Cobbe
John George Cobbe (1860–1944) was a
New Zealand politician of the Liberal Party, then the National Party. He was born inIreland , and arrived in New Zealand in 1886.He represented the Oroua electorate from 1928 to 1938, then the Manawatu electorate from 1938 to 1943, when he retired.
He was a Cabinet minister. He was Minister of Defence from 1929 to 1935 and Minister of Justice from 1930 to 1935 in the United Government.
