Muslim Hands - United for the Needy is an international NGO working in over forty countries worldwide to help those affected by natural disasters, conflict and poverty. The organisation was established in 1993 in Nottingham, UK. Currently Muslim Hands has fundraising offices in the UK, France and South Africa.

Its stated mission is: To be at the forefront in delivering relief from poverty, sickness and the provision of education worldwide. To provide an ethical service for the collection & distribution of funds in an effective, efficient, transparent and wholly accountable manner.

The UK office (and worldwide headquarters) of Muslim Hands is located at: 148 Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham. NG7 5JE.

The current Chairman is Syed Lakhte Hassanain and the senior management team consists of:

Amjad Shah - Administration; Shahid Bashir - Fundraising; Tariq Nasir - Projects.

The 2010 Sahel Famine

The Muslim Hands charity set up an appeal and sent aid to Niger and Mali in July, 2010. It was the worst Niger famine since 1984, with 3,500,000 people were starving[1].
