The flag, originally used by the
Polisario Front , consists of the coloursblack ,green ,white andred . The overall design of the flag is similar to that of Palestine, but this was not intentional. This flag, among many others, was derived from the colours used in theArab Revolt . Thestar andcrescent are major symbols ofIslam and can be seen on flags of other Islamic countries, such asPakistan .Construction sheet
An official construction sheet for the SADR flag was released by the SADR Government in June 1987. The flag ratio is 1:2 and the length of the red triangle is 1/3rd of the total flag.
