The fire lookout atop The Needles, at an elevation of 8,245 feet, offers magnificent views of the Golden Trout Wilderness and Kern River Canyon.

The Needles Lookout is located 2.5 miles off the Western Divide Highway (State Route 190)10 miles north of Mountain Rd. 50. Johnsondale, CA is the nearest town.
