Araguaína , in the state ofTocantins inBrazil .It is the main gateway to the Northern region of Tocantins State and, perhaps, to the Southern of Para and Maranhao States. Although very simple, the terminal building has air-conditioned boarding room capable of handling people boarding a 737-400, and the arrival hall has a moving belt. Luggage trolleys are available free of charge. Car rental is available on site. As of 2007, two major Brazilian carriers operate at Araguaina Airport.
Total Linhas Aereas has two daily flights, andOceanair has one scheduled flight daily. A modest cafeteria opens during regular flight arrival/departures. Downtown Araguaina is located approximately 8 km far away and can be reached by taxis or public transportation (although limited, buses run regularly all-day-long between the terminal and the city). The airport is currently undergoing refurbishment. Restoration is expected in the ramp, runway, runway lighting, and terminal building.
