Bodington Hall
Main article: Bodington HallThe largest student residence, mainly for first years, are located out by the Leeds Outer Ring Road. 650 students live in catered residences, 500 in self-catering rooms.
Charles Morris Hall
Mount Preston Street, LS2 9JP, is home to Charles Morris Hall, consiting of four blocks of buildings- Storm Jameson East, Stoem Jameson West, Dobree and Whetton. Dobree and Whettom accommodate 80 students in each of two blocks with most bedrooms having a washbasin but share a bathroom. This was refurbished in 2010. Storm Jameson East & West are new buildings, with the first set of students moving in September 2010. All rooms are en-suite and are also fitted with double beds.
Devonshire Hall
Devonshire Hall is located off Cumberland Road, LS6 2EQ, approximately half a mile north from the University centre. It is based around an old building (the original Devonshire Hall), but most accommodation is in new blocks. 260 students live in catered residences, while another 300 reside in self-catering rooms. It is considered to the preserve of the richer students and is the only residence to hold formal hall.
Ellerslie Hall
Ellerslie Hall, located on Lyddon Terrace, LS2 9LQ, is a set of 6 refurbished Victorian houses on the edge of the campus. It has a total of 118 bedrooms. Most study bedrooms have a washbasin but share a bathroom with a neighbour, 32 of the rooms have en-suite facilities. It has approximately 30 rooms with a double bed. Ellerslie has a large common room in the main hall with a pool table. Ellerslie is a fully catered hall but also provides cooking facilities for students to make snacks.[1]
Lyddon Hall
Lyddon Hall, located on Virginia Road, LS2 9JW, is a refurbished 1886 brick building in the middle of the University campus area. The hall contains 145 rooms, and 113 of these study bedrooms have a washbasin but share a shower and toilet with a neighbour.[1]
Self catered
Bodington Hall
Main article: Bodington HallBodington Hall, the largest of the student residence hall on the university campus is located on Otley Road LS16 5PT; the hall contains 500 self-catering rooms.
Clarence Dock

The Clarence Dock Residence Hall is located on Clarence Road LS10 1LU. It is close to the city centre and is also situated by the River Aire and near the Royal Armouries. Clarence Dock contains 610 en suite rooms including some modified for disabled students.
Devonshire Hall
Devonshire Hall is located off Cumberland Road, LS6 2EQ. The Hall is about half a mile north from the University and is based around an old building, the original Devonshire Hall, but most accommmodation is found in new blocks. 300 of the accommodations are self-catering rooms.
Devonshire Hall has beautiful architecture and surroundings as well as a strong musical tradition, with several rehearsal rooms as well as a dance band and concert band[citation needed].
Grayson Heights
Grayson Heights has been wholly leased from Unipol. It is used for housing Postgraduates and families.
Henry Price Building
Henry Price is the only self-catered residence on campus. There are 40 self-contained flats spread across five blocks. The five-storey building provides accommodation for up to 355 students. The ground floor is used for bike storage. Flats generally have nine individual rooms (one of which is a double) and a kitchen/common room. The building was originally modelled on a Swedish prison. Adjacent single rooms share a communal shower and toilet. The double rooms have en-suite facilities. All rooms have wardrobes, desks, chairs and fitted beds.
Originally the top-floor flats had additional duplex rooms at the front of the building. These shared rooms were built on a split-level with one student living above the one below. All duplexs shared toilet and washing facilities with a similar adjacent room.
Recently Henry Price has undergone a major refurbishment. Students have 24-hr internet access, laundry facilities and IPTV television.[2]
Leodis Residences
The Leodis Residences are located on North West Road, LS6 2QF. These residences accommodate 715 students with most of the rooms being en-suite. The Hall is located approximately 10 minutes from the University, just by the Montague Burton residences.
Leodis consists of 9 blocks with blocks B - J (with no block I) being newly built and containing en-suites with lifts for the 7 floors and block A being a converted mill building with 4 floors plus 2 extra flats in the roof, there is no lift in this block.
Lupton Residences
The Lupton Residences are located on Alma Road in the centre of Headingley, behind Sainsbury's, Wilkinson, and other shops along the Headingley shopping strip. All blocks but 1 contain 9 flats across 3 floors with 5 people per flat. These flats share one kitchen and one bathroom between the 5 people. One of the Yorkshire Ripper's victims was found in the grounds in November 1980[3].
James Baillie Park
James Baillie Park is positioned at the end of North Hill Road, close to both Devonshire Hall and North Hill Court.
The site is managed by UNITE and has 560 rooms available with most being en-suite; some studio flats are available and there are a few cluster flats housing 3 students sharing a bathroom. Most kitchens are shared between 6 residents; some share between 4 while cluster flats share between 3.
Studio flats have their own kitchen facilities. Additionally, James Baillie offers a common room with satellite TV, pool table, games machine and vending machines where it is possible to meet other students. Laundry facilities, cycle storage and off-road parking is also available.
The students that live here have the advantage of being half-way between the University and Headingley; only a short walk from all the bars, pubs, cinemas, cafes and restaurants in Headingley and the Hyde Park area. It takes approximately 20 minutes to walk to Parkinson steps; additionally, James Baillie Park is on the main bus route with buses running every few minutes.
Montague Burton Residences
Montague Burton Residences are situated on Devon Road, approximately five to eight minutes walk away from the Parkinson Building, which marks the front of the University of Leeds. The residences house 480 students in standard rooms with a washbasin. Flats are shared between five people.
North Hill Court
North Hill Court is close to Devonshire and James Baillie. Bathrooms are shared between rooms with some rooms also having balconies.
Oxley Residences
Oxley is a set of student residences situated in Weetwood, Leeds. The residence constitutes 12 blocks (A-M, except I) and 2 houses (Oxley House and Bardon Grange). Oxley is approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) away from the University of Leeds and 3.5 miles (5.6 km) away from Leeds City Centre. The halls are located close to Weetwood Sports facilities.
The main building Oxley House was built in 1861 in Gothic revival style for Henry Oxley, and then called Weetwood Villa (later The Elms).[4] In 1921 it became Oxley Hall, a hall for women students.[5]. Other modern blocks have now been added.
Sentinel Towers
Sentinel Towers is located on Burley Street approximately a 15-minute walk from the western end of the University Campus. It is divided into two towers, Tower A and Tower B. The distance to campus is ideal for medical and dental students due to its location.
Tower A is currently inhabited by international exchange students. Tower B is a mix of first year students and international students. Generally Sentinel towers is one of the more quiet student halls in Leeds.
It comprises 240 en-suite rooms, organized into flats of between 4 and 8 students all sharing kitchen facilities. The rooms are of average size, however some rooms are very small and others are rather large. There are no living rooms as in some of the other student halls. It has a secure parking area beneath the bases of the Towers which is accessed only by keyfob with a capacity of around 20 cars. This is ideal as most students at this accommodation due to the large volume of exchange students do not have cars.
There are a few small shops out the back of Sentinel Towers which are ideal for essentials. This accommodation is very close to concept place, the tannery, Opal 1 and 2 and the triangle.
Shimmin
Shimmin is a residence hall on the top floor of the Social Sciences building at the University of Leeds. It is able to house 40 students and has bathroom and kitchen facilities shared between each flat with each flat housing around 6 students. Historically, Shimmin had always been used to house female students, but since September 2007 it has been used as temporary accommodation to house students when the number of applications exceed the available standard campus housing spaces.
St Marks Residences
The St. Marks Residences are about a 2 minute walk from the Houldsworth Engineering building of Leeds University, close to Woodhouse Moor. Across the road from St. Marks is a Leeds Metropolitan University residence.
St. Marks is very close to the City Centre, with nightlife, restaurants, shops and clubs within a 10 minute walk.
St. Marks is a gated residence consisting of eleven blocks, each of which contains between nine and eleven flats. Five or six students live in each flat with all the occupants of the flat sharing a bathroom and kitchen.
The Tannery
This is a student accommodation owned by the Unite company in Leeds. It is located at the rear of Sentinel towers and is approximately 15 minutes from the Leeds campus.
Concept Place
Concept place is another of the Unite student accommodations in Leeds. This is a very popular accommodation which opened in January 2008. This accommodation is very modern and has a hotel feel. The rooms are arranged in groups of 3 to 6 within each flat and each have en-suite facilities and 3/4 beds.

Albert Mansbridge Hall
Carr Mills
Carr Mills was located on Buslingthorpe Lane, off Meanwood Road on the border of Meanwood and Woodhouse. Carr Mills, a converted textile mill, contains 300 rooms featuring en suite facilities with kitchens shared between 4 or 6 rooms. This residence is privately rented accommodation which was wholly leased by the University. Signs with University branding erected at Carr Mills during this agreement are still in situ, although with slight amendment.

In the 1960s and 1970s, under the stewardship of Ernest Kirkby, Sadler Hall, one of the smallest of the University's halls of residence, gained a reputation for folk music and for sword-dancing.
Tetley Hall

The former University of Leeds hall of residence is now a Hotel and Conference Centre (owned and run by the University). It is located on the junction of the A660 and the Leeds Outer Ring Road.
