The airline was established in
2002 and started operations on25 May 2003 . It was established byMIAT Mongolian Airlines to feed international services by MIAT,Korean Air ,Air China andAeroflot from Ulan Bator. It has 55 employees (at March2007 ). It received its firstFokker 50 in December 2002 and received itsFokker 100 in January2006 . With the arrival of the Fokker 100, Aero Mongolia introduced its first flights toSouth Korea . Aero Mongolia leased another Fokker 100 in June 2006. At the end of 2006 the airline started a direct flight route toTianjin ,China .On 31 October 2007, Mongolian aviation authorities suspended Aero Mongolia flights temporarily after the airline failed safety checks.
