Oceanway, Florida

Oceanway, Florida is a neighborhood of Jacksonville, located just north of the neighborhood of San Mateo in Duval County, Florida. Once dotted with small farms and isolated houses, Oceanway has grown dramatically since the early 1980's, adding numerous residential neighborhoods, a new high school First Coast High School built in 1990, and several other schools for lower grades. Oceanway is also home to a large shopping center River City Marketplace with over 50 outlets, including Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and many other fine retailers. Oceanway and the bordering neighborhoods of New Berlin and Yellow Bluff are now among the fastest growing areas of the city, according to Duval County Records.[citation needed]
